Color Theory Design
Second Trimester Art Students were tested on their skills in simple design and paint mixing. These students were given the task to create a design that would be repeated four times. The design was then painted with four different color schemes. They needed to paint one in primary colors, one in analogous colors (four colors next to each other on the color wheel), one in monochromatic colors (tints and shades of one color) and one in complimentary colors (colors across from each other on the color wheel)
This project not only got students VERY acquainted with the colors on the color wheel, but it also made for some lovely paintings to put on display.
