Papier Mache Animals
For the final project in art elective, the students were told that they could work alone or in groups to create a paper mache animal. The only requirements were that it had to be recognizable, well constructed, and it had to be able to stand or sit upright.
Students tackled the task in different ways. I must admit, we had less days than originally planned due to unexpected missed days, field trips and rainy weather. But still, the animals were created. We had a bunny, a cat, an ant, a monkey, a very elaborate and fancy pig, an elephant (minus a trunk), a crouching tiger and an alligator who got his tail cut off by a boat. (?)
They are all wonderfully creative, but gigantically huge. I am not sure what we will do with them. Any takers?
