F.A.M.E. for April
April’s Fine Arts Mini Experience (FAME) was taught during the week of April 24th-28th and featured the artist Leonardo da Vinci’s “Mona Lisa”, and the composer Ludwig van Beethoven’s music “Für Elise” and “The Fifth Symphony”.
This lesson focused on two brilliant men who were trailblazers in their fields. Students learned about the history of the Mona Lisa and what makes it such an iconic work of art. They also heard stories about what made Leonardo da Vinci a true “Renaissance Man”. Students learned about da Vinci’s other talents, and about many of his fascinating inventions.
Beethoven’s life and history were also explored in this FAME lesson. Students were introduced to several of his pieces and listened for Melody and Dynamics (which is definitely present in his 5th symphony!) We also learned more about Beethoven’s tragic deafness and the obstacles he overcame to become arguably one of the world’s greatest composers.
