Calacas for Day of the Dead
In Mexico, on The day of the Dead (Dios de los Muertos), the dead are celebrated with family ritual and remembering. People have picnics in the cemetery and decorate their ancestors' grave sites. Sometimes, little dressed up skeletons (calacas) are used to commemorate an individual. We made some of these happy little skeletons in art class. To celebrate this holiday -- which falls two days after Halloween.
