Make your own!
Scratch art is an activity that most kids know and love to do. But the supplies are so expensive! Not if you make your own scratch sheets, though! Here's how:
1) On a heavy piece of drawing paper, create the under colors with nice dark crayon lines and circles. Use lots of bright colors. Those look best when the black is scratched away.
2) Mix together a cup of black tempera paint with two squirts of dishwashing soap. Blend them together thoroughly, then paint the mixture on so that you can not see the crayon underneath. Allow this to dry completely.
3) Take a paperclip and unbend one edge. This makes for a perfect scratching tool. Have fun!
My fifth grade class was told that they could make one of four scenes: 1) underwater 2) space 3) jungle 4) buildings. Check out the results!
