Welcome to Ms. Campbell's Art Class
I am very excited to be back at Sunol Glen for another fun year of teaching art. This year, for the second year in a row, I am lucky enough to be teaching every single 1st through 8th grader in the school! That means that over 260 kids cycle through my little art room every week. The preparation and clean up can sometimes get over whelming, but it is ALL worth it, to see my students light up as they create their own artistic masterpieces.
My art classes are age appropriate, with different grades learning different techniques. We study various media, and I try never to get stuck on just one art style. We are able to really investigate many varied kinds of art because I am going to be teaching FAME this year in the art room (Fine Arts Mini Experience). Using this program, the children will be learning about art history (as well as music!), and then taking the information they have learned, and creating all kinds of great work. The artists we are studying this year are: Pieter Bruegel, Edgar Degas, Raoul Dufy, Andrew Wyeth, El Greco and Helen Frankenthaler. Please investigate the side bar through out the year, to see what we are doing! There will also be articles in the Eagle Flyer.
In my Art Elective class, which is made up of 6-8th graders, and meets every day, I am teaching the students about different elements in art. We are learning about these elements while using all different types of media. Some examples are graphite, colored pencils, pens, markers, paint, oil and chalk pastels, collage, clay and plaster.
